Welcome! I am Nawata, a Japanese-American based in the South Bay Area of California who has practiced and studied Shibari for a decade. My mission is to introduce this practice to others, ensuring that everyone can experience its joy while prioritizing safety to prevent injuries in such a way that it is understood why these measures are taken. Although it is artisanal, Shibari is something inherently perverse, and so this is an 18+ service. Though I greatly distance myself with Western BDSM as I am not comfortable with it. I fall somewhere on the asexual spectrum, which is why I create such a distance. I refrain from calling my service traditional Japanese Shibari, as I have not grown up in Japan. The sensations of rope have always fascinated me, and it’s an essential part of my life. I have both been bound and have bound, and I believe that an understanding and practice of both are necessary to achieve the best results in ties and safety. I also note that I do not provide a location or space and bring the Shibari to you. Overall, I believe that Shibari is a great expression of endurance, strength, and discipline.

In my mission, I offer a unique service that teaches, regardless of relationships, lessons in Shibari. This practice is referred to as Self-tying. Even in partner lessons, I insist that everyone tie themselves before being tied, so sensations from both are understood.

I also offer to be a rigger for video and photo shoots. I can help assist in getting good shots, but do not have advanced equipment. In this service I and the person being tied have the final say on if a tie is safe or not.
